With a new year dawning, it is usually a time for people to make resolutions. Many of us want to lose weight, travel the world, or just be nicer to our fellow human beings. However, we behoove you to make some resolutions for your lawn and tree care in 2016. While we know you already have so much going on, these resolutions are simple and easy and will carry you through the year.

Tree care resolutions for the person who wants to sell their home this year:
Inspect trees, plants, and shrubs for insects or disease.
Mature trees, plants, and shrubs can add value to your home by as much as 10%, according to the US Forest Service. However, a tree can be deemed a liability by anyone looking at your home if there are problems like trunks or branches with damage from insects or diseases. Save yourself the trouble and address your problems as soon as you can.
Create a landscaping plan.
Not only does landscaping look good, but it also helps you to sell your house as a haven. Talk to someone at Menchhofer Tree Care about the best options for shrubs or trees that will add to the overall appeal of your lawn – and that might do some good for it as well.
For those who want a better looking yard:
Laying mulch down is an easy way to ensure that your trees are healthier and look better than ever. Mulch will help to keep your lawn mower away from roots and will also act as food for the tree once the mulch starts to decompose.
Prune! Prune! Prune!
Make it a point to prune your trees this year – or better yet, have someone prune them! That way, all it takes for your resolution to be complete is to pick up your phone and give us a call! It is an easy way to check something off of your list and add some curb appeal to your home.
Plant a tree!
The world has a lot of trees, but it can really never have enough. This spring, get your family together and plant a tree that you can all tend to over the coming year. It will make the air you breathe a little cleaner and it will give you an excuse to spend some quality time together.
No matter what you do this year for your resolution, make sure you take care of your trees! Make sure they have enough water, get them pruned if they are unruly, and call Menchhofer Tree Care if you have any problems.
